Turn the Surface off by pressing the power button. Insert the USB recovery drive into the USB port. Press and hold the volume-down (-) rocker. Press and release the power button. When the Surface logo appears, release the volume-down (-) rocker. When prompted, choose your language options and keyboard layout. Select Troubleshoot. Select Recover
Step 2: press and hold volume-up button and the power button on your Surface at. the same time for at least 15 seconds, and then release both. down for at least 15 seconds. Step 3: After you release the buttons, wait 10 seconds. Step 4: Press and release the power button again to turn your Surface back on.

It may be a faulty Volume Up button that is the cause of the problem. If this doesn't work, try disconnecting the power from the TV and then removing the back off the TV and disconnecting the button "board" cable from the mainboard. Then reconnect the power to the TV and check if this prevents the problem from occurring.

After upgrading to IOS 14, on my iPad Pro 9.7, the volume down button does not lower the volume, nor display. Volume up button seems to work just fine. No response after toggling “change buttons” in Sounds in Settings, even after multiple resets.

I know the power key works, because I can turn the screen on and of with it, I can also press and hold the down volume and power key at the same time, and that brings up the power menu. But when I press and hold just the side key/power key alone, nothing happens. Any suggestions. I already restarted the phone.

Well its happening on a self built desktop and an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. By volume up and down buttons, I mean the buttons on the keyboard that control volume. there is an up, down, and mute. If I press both the up and down at the same time twice or three times in a row, the Screen goes black for a split second and a beep noise occurs.
Mine started the same exact thing last night. 4 days out of the box, power button and volume down stopped working. Will be replacing, not trying to patch up with a "fix" this early on. Also, all the apps on the new phone are the same apps from my HTC one that I used for 2.5 years without problems.
Is there a way to hide the volume ui when the volume_up/volume_down key is pressed. I understand that it can be done with an activity when it doesnt seem to work when tiggered when a dialog is shown. Is there an solution?
